The next meeting of the Bobby Ray Detachment of the Marine Corps League will be
held at the Administration Bldg located in the Magnolia Room at 201 Locust St.,
McMinnville, TN. Enter through the top floor, front of the building on Locust
Street.
MARINE RECEIVES MEDAL
IN HONOR OF FALLEN MOTHER
ARLINGTON, Va.-Corporal Christopher Conley, a crew chief with 2nd
Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, poses with the
Citizen Service Before Self Honors Medal during a ceremony at
Arlington National Cemetery March 25, 2011. Conley received the
award on behalf of his mother, Marie Conley of Boston, who was
recognized for sacrificing her own life to save a young boy by
shielding him with her own body from a car that was barreling

THE LAST MAN STANDING
OF ANOTHER ERA HAS FALLEN
Claude Choules, the only remaining male veteran of World War I and
one of the last people to have served in both world wars, died May
5 at a nursing home near Perth in western Australia. He was 110,
and no cause of death was reported. The former seaman, who was
underage when he signed up for duty, witnessed the surrender of
the German Imperial Navy in 1918. See Full Article

McMinnville Airport (Location One)
A ceremony will be held at the McMinnville Airport which starts at 0700, Monday May
30th, 2011. Please arrive at least 45 minutes early. Dress code is Marine Corps
League covers, dark trousers and IZOD style shirt. Breakfast will be served at the
VFW following the ceremony.

Bobby Ray Grave Side Ceremony (Location Two)
The detachment will meet graveside at the Mountain View Cemetery at 1200 on Monday May
30th, 2011. The cemetery is located behind the Superior Building Supplies Lumber Yard
off Hwy 70 on North Spring St.
